Hyperactivity of these glands is typically the result of excess male hormones in the body or too many receptors of these hormones under the skin of the scalp.
The receptor molecules are sensitive to certain chemicals, which by means of such receptors become active in tissues.
Hormones may be temporarily or permanently disrupted. If the disruption is temporary, sleep neat, quiet life and a healthy diet may help you.
But if that doesn`t help, then your hormonal problem may be chronic.
It is not easy to act on the work of endocrine system it will help maintain high scalp hygiene.
If you have oily skin and hair, wash them every day to prevent fat deposition, formation of dandruff, clogging the pores and the development of infections.
Avoid very aggressive shampoos for oily hair, because they dry the scalp and irritate the sebaceous glands.

Natural resources for treating greasy hair

Rinse with lemon juice
Thanks to citric acid, citrus fruit is salutary for the victims of oily skin and hair.
Squeeze 2 whole lemons and stir in 4 dl of water.
After shampoo, gently dry your hair with a towel then massage your scalp with this solution.
Leave it on your scalp for 5 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

Lemon and vinegar
Be creative and combine lemon with other ingredients, which also reduces the activity of sebaceous glands.
Lemon goes well with apple or wine vinegar, one of the main assets against fat acetic acid.
In 2 dl water pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar and juice of 1 lemon.
After shampooing, rinse your scalp with this mixture first, then rinse with warm water.

Lemon and tea
Make 2 deciliters of green, black or mint tea.
When tepid squeeze half a lemon into it.
After shampooing, apply the mixture on hair and scalp. Leave 10 minutes and rinse in lukewarm water.
Tea contains tannic acid, which acts as an astringent (shrink) on the skin and thus suppresses the secretion of fat.
If you currently haven`t any lemon, you can use only tea or a mixture of vinegar, but it’s always better to use lemon juice.

Witch hazel oil
Witch hazel oil is a strong astringent and significantly helps with skin problems.
Add 4 drops of this oil to 2 tablespoons of water and stir well.
Dip a cotton swab in this mixture and spread on your scalp.
Repeat at least three times a week, and if you scalp is very oily you can do this treatment on a daily basis.

Diluted non-alcoholic beer
Beer removes excess fat and beautifies hair.
Mix a glass of beer (non-alcoholic) with a glass of water with this mixture rinse your hair after shampooing.
Leave the mixture on the hair for 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

Baking soda
This white crystalline powder is present in most households and is another valuable reference tool against oily hair and scalp.
In one liter of water add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda and shake well.
Apply the mixture on your hair and scalp and leave for 20 minutes.
Then wash your hair with shampoo as usual and rinse with lukewarm water.
Do this treatment three times a week.

Dry degreasing
To absorb excess oil from the hair and scalp, sprinkle baby powder, sandalwood powder or cornstarch.
Let the detergent act for 5 minutes, then brush.
This method is not suitable if you have weak hair that is prone to breakage and falling.

Useful tips when washing, rinsing and drying hair
• When washing, massage your scalp very gently to avoid damaging the hair.
• Rinse your scalp well to remove any leftover shampoo or foam.
• Do not use strong or hot hair dryer.
• If possible, gently dry your hair with a towel.
• If you have time, allow your hair to air dry itself.

Food greasy skin and hair

Stay away from foods high in saturated fats, fried foods and refined sugar.
Opt for raw fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, nuts and seeds.
Instead of artificially sweetened carbonated and juice drink fresh fruit or vegetable juices and plenty of plain or spring water
